Perfect combination July 23, 2010 Erin Easy to fill up, a little harder for dogs to empty out. Perfect combo! We put about a 1/2 cup of kibble in this treat ball every morning. When I come home, most of the kibble is gone, but there is still enough kibble in the ball so that I know Hurley (our 4 and 1/2 month old Vizsla) has been playing with it all day. It's big enough to where I can leave it with her all day without being worried she'll destroy it. Our dog likes to chew, but mainly only chews on rawhides and nyla bones. Therefore, we haven't had any issues with her destroying this toy. It keeps her busy all day and I truly believe it has helped with her separation anxiety, as it gives her something to focus on throughout the day.
Entertaining, but it didn't last long July 8, 2010 LAUREN T VO (Austin, TX United States) The good news is that my 11 month old, 15 lb. puppy loved it. However, he managed to chew off a chunk of the plastic in roughly five hours of supervised on-again, off-again play. So I had to throw it in the trash on the same day that it arrived - how disappointing.
Overall great product. July 2, 2010 Gannon Burleigh 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This holds about a cup of dog food. A smart dog will get it all out in about 15-20 minutes, once they get used to rolling it around. So not hours like in the description, but that's still 15-20 minutes of constant activity per cup of food. My dog is exhausted after his 3 cups of food (refill the ball 3 times) and the vet even noticed he is looking more fit. Would highly recommend.
ok July 2, 2010 Roy L. Mccafferty (Las Vegas, NV) Product would be good if the dog didn't prefer to play with his master instead.
good for play, bad for meals June 30, 2010 jgalt I bought this item for my golden retriever. A trainer had recommended that I try feeding her meals this way so that she wouldn't just inhale her food. I typically feed her 1 cup of kibble, and the capacity of this seemed to be about 1/2 that. I filled it full, showed her how it worked, and set it down. She did seem to enjoy the challenge (or at least the food coming out), but after the first couple of minutes, the amount of food that came out at once (1-2 little kibble) decreased significantly even though there was still lots of food inside. After 15 minutes, I lost patience with the toy, and attempted to shake out the rest of the food. It took me a few minutes, which means that it would have taken her another 15 or so. I had particular trouble getting out the last 2-3 pieces. This could be a great toy for dogs, but it certainly is not a good tool for meal feeding. Plus, since she was rolling it everywhere, I had slobber and dog food crumbs everywhere when she was done. Yuck!
