Product Description A great big hug in book form, Snuggle Puppy is a year-round valentine from parent to child. It is bright, chunky, a pleasure to hold, and has a die-cut cover that reveals a glimpse of the joy inside before it's even opened. Best of all, it's packed, of course, with pure Boynton: her inimitable language, her inimitable illustrations, her inimitable sense of fun.
OOO, Snuggle Puppy of mine! Everything about you is especially fine. I love what you are. I love what you do. Fuzzy little Snuggle Puppy, I love you. Featuring a sweet and cuddly doggie cast and rhyming verse, Snuggle Puppy is the perfect bedtime book to read last, because of an ending that kids will want again and again: I started with OOO. . . . Now we'll end like this: [BIG SMOOCH!]

My Son Loves this Book June 27, 2010 CJC (USA) This is one of my sons favorite books. He gets so excited when we start reading it to him.
A New Favorite! June 22, 2010 Wardrobe Oxygen (Washington, DC) We have many Boynton books, but the only other one that has been quite a hit with my daughter is Moo Baa La La La. That one has been her favorite since she was 5 months old (she is 17 months). The other Boynton books we got she never really attached to. After reading the reviews on here I decided to try Snuggly Puppy and I am SO glad I did. It is our new go-to for bedtime. he poem is like a song and it's easy to sing the words. The pictures are very simple, but the words are colorful and fun. When there is the part where the book encourages you to shout/be loud, I snuggle up to my daughter and we sort of dance in the chair to that part and she giggles. When it says kiss, she now makes a kissing song. It's great to have a fun book that is great to read, great to look at, interactive and encourages you and your child to be affectionate. Best of all, it's the perfect length for a young toddler - short enough for her attention span, long enough to be entertaining. Well done Sandra Boynton!
Wonderful Book!!! June 7, 2010 Michelle Rosiek (New Jersey) Purchased this book for my 3.5 year old son. We have a few of Sandra's books (Pajama Time, Going to Bed Book and Barnyard Dance). This looked like a sweet book and it certainly is. We read this one at bedtime and we giggle and crack up when I give him smooches....definately putting this one in his hope chest for the future! Get the book....it won't disappoint!
fun book April 9, 2010 C. Stroud (louisville, ky) She writes great kids books and this one is no different. This book is mostly a song, and the funny thing is how my wife and I sing it completely differently, but my daughter still loves it. It is very sturdy construction, so no bending, tearing, etc.
Baby says, "ooh" March 17, 2010 Count is great (New York, NY) I didn't think this book or even Sandra Boynton was all that special when I first bought it but everyone owns her books, so apparently we have to also. Not expecting much, I dug up the song on Youtube and played it for my baby a few times while singing along. Maybe it was the infectious cuteness of the adorable pictures which had me snuggling more with baby, maybe it was all the baby kissing because the song cues you to kiss a couple of times, but within two days it became baby's favorite book. Every time I put the music on that day, he would look up and grin. He's 8 months old and normally eats books, but on the second day, I saw him holding this book and contemplating it for several minutes (without eating). Then he quietly said "Oooh" to himself. ("Oooh" is one of the repeated refrains of this book). I got one of baby's first words and an new found interest in books out of this. In my mind, that's a good six bucks spent.
I was so impressed I went on to buy the Philadelphia Chickens CD which includes the absolutely lovely Eric Stoltz recording of this song. Mind you, it's not just the music, it's this book so don't just skip to buying only the CD. The Philadelphia chickens CD, while enjoyed, did not get the kind of response as did singing with this illustrated board book.
